Ingredients in Lamb Karahi Recipe
Lamb – cut into bite size pieces (can be on the bone lamb)
Sliced onions – 2 medium size
Tomatoes – 3 medium sized
Ginger-garlic paste
Spices like turmeric powder, garam masala powder, coriander, spring onion, oil
Red chili powder or green chili powder (optional)
How to make Lamb Karahi Gosht
So this is an easy lamb curry with few ingredients and simple method of cooking. Let’s began:-
Step 1: Marinate the meat
First you need to take the lamb meat in a bowl and mix it with ginger-garlic pate and salt. Cover it with aluminum paper or cling wrap and leave it in cool place to marinate. While it is marinated you can do other process.
Step2: Fry the Onions
In a wok or Karahi, heat oil and add the sliced onion. You need to sauté until they turn pinkish.
Step 3: Add the Meat and Dry Masala
After the onion is pinkish you need to add the marinate lamb meat on Karahi. Stir-fry on medium heat for few minutes until the meat turn brown and the oil leaves the sides of the wok.
After that you need to add masala (spice ingredient like turmeric powder, garam masala, salt, chili powder) to bring color and flavor.
Step 4: Add tomatoes
Then you can add chopped tomatoes and cook them until it break down. Then, lower the heat, cover the wok and slow cook for 45 minutes. Then add half glass of water halfway through cooking process if gravy seems to be getting too dry.
Step 5: Garnish
When lamb has softened and the gravy is done, take the lid off and add green chilies. Sprinkle with chopped coriander or parsley. Then your lamb curry is ready to be served with warm rice or naan.
